As you remember, Bloomberg had a report that we are probably seeing changes on the Twitch ad programs and the Partner program as Amazon is trying to get steady "positives" from the streaming network.
While it was warned that plans probably would not get the green light, it wasn't the case for the ad program.
Twitch's Ad Incentive Program is official and as it is expected, Twitch wants you to give more time to ad during your stream as the CPM formula was not working as great as it was expected too.
In a simple way to put it, Partners will be giving 3 minutes per hour on showing ads during their stream and directly receives the 55% ofthe earning generated from those 180 seconds that people miss your content.
To assure the success of this program, Twitch will have more Twitch Partners in consideration and while the program starts today, it will be expanded to Affiliate in August.
The good news is that the pre-roll out of ads when a viewer enters a stream the first time, will be disabled.
For now, the program is optional for content creators to join and will be on the original CPM formula if you choose not to join the program.
