It is not a secret that Square Enix is high on Cloud Computing while games launches on Stadia and Xbox Game Pass Cloud have slowed down a bit. But the lack of new games on both services can be explained by this announcement.
This week, Square Enix surprisingly announced that it has invested in Blacknut, a Cloud Gaming platform that Google has begun aiming at and Microsoft just started to look how to compete, which is Cloud Gaming for Business-to-Business solutions.
Much like Immersive Stream (Stadia B2B variant) and Project Moorcroft (Xbox Game Pass Cloud B2B version), Blacknut main business is offering Cloud Gaming solution to companies and the advantage that probably was a no-brainer for Square Enix to invest is that Blacknunt presence in markets where neither Stadia or Xbox Game Pass Cloud has arrived yet.
I am surprised that I haven't heard of Blacknut before and looking at their website, despite the service being aimed at B2B, they have a public catalog of over 500 games where people can subscribe for $14.99 per month.
Also, one account can have other 5 family member sharing the catalog and pretty much the basic you would expect from Cloud Gaming service with no install and no slavery to storage spaces.
Looking randomly on some external reviews, Balcknut has not revealed where the service is really available and expect users found out by trying to subscribe, but data suggest that North America and most European Union countries have the service available and while the 500 game catalog talks just on quantity and not quality, one can say that maybe Blacknut are not there test to be a proper heavy competitor for Stadia, Xbox Cloud Gaming Cloud, Luna and GeForce Now, but definitely Square Enix knows something that many don't.
