Practically after announcing Sega Mega Drive 2 Mini, question remained that its american and most internationally known variat Sega Genesis second model would use a "Mini" version and the answer is yes.

Surprisingly and in mid of the last day of Prime Day, Sega announced the Sega Genesis Mini 2, modeled after the Sega Genesis 32X model that was a refresh model of the original Genesis and base for the Sega CD add-on.

As it was with the japanese counterpart, the Genesis Mini 2 will have over 50 games,sharing from the Genesis and Sega CD catalog, including two never released in America before console games Fantasy Zone and Star Mobile.

The Sega Genesis Mini 2 will be sold exclusively on Amazon and as of the writing of this, the pre order states a $103 price (on my end that is) and Prime eligible free shipping with a release window of October 27, 2022.
