We have been waiting for quite some time for something beyond letting our friends on Discord know when we are playing on our consoles, particularly with the Xbox One and/or the Xbox Series S/X.
A constant desire was that Voice Chat within consoles and not via mobile or having a PC as middleman, but finally has been answered.
Microsoft and Discord confirmed today that a new Xbox Insider Build has preliminary support for Discord Voice Chat accessible within the same Xbox consoles and nothing else to make communication.
But, as it was expected, there are some steps you need to do and as per Discord's blog, you need to make the Voice Chat call first from Xbox side, the mobile app particularly and a transfer from the Xbox Mobile app to serve a kind of another middleman to let the Xbox console takes over the Voice Chat.
Unfortunately there wasn't any assurance that things will improve in the future where a dedicated Xbox console's installable app of Discord is coming soon and maybe, enabling a more seamless process.
But to say that this is a race with Playstation in Discord speaking, Xbox is the clear winner.
