We are still a few months before E3 this year, this time the Electronic Software Association is letting a third party carry on with the organization this year but even so, there is so much questioning about the worth of the event and now, with Microsoft confirming a big rumor.
Microsoft has confirmed to IGN that they will skip E3 this year and will not also have a physical booth on the vent.
Instead, Microsoft confirmed that this year, it will host a virtual Xbox Games Showcase on June 11 and will share more details soon.
This is the second of the big three of gaming that has said it will be skipping E3 2023 after Nintendo did so a few weeks ago and while it remains to see if Sony will have Playstation saying “present”, but chances are slim as Sony has already skipped E3 even before the pandemic.
A few days ago, the organizer, ReedPop, claimed that unnamed “AAA companies, in addition to indie darlings and tech and hardware firms” have committed to “making their return” to the LA Convention Center.
So far the only official confirmation from a AAA game studio came from Ubisoft, but that’s it so far.
