As a developer, one of the challenges of going multiplatform is that a complete and synchronized parallel development of a program or application is ideal  but not an easy task, particularly going on to opposite poles speaking of Android and iOS.

Discord is just another example but their developers have announced a surprising update and that the Android version of Discord will no longer be written in native Android code via the Kotlin Language and will switch to Native React.

A TLDR of what is Native React, it is a development framework that aims to create applications and software used in different devices based on JavaScript, Java, C++, Objective-C and Python.

Native React was originally announced by Facebook Inc., now Meta Platforms, in 2012 with the first stable version launched in 2015.

With the change of platform, Discord users should expect features and design more consistent across Android, iOS, and desktop. While the Discord Android app will still keep some specific customizations, things like font sizes will be aligned between Android and iOS.

All this along with faster app update release cycles as the platform allows the developers to simplify development in general.

No changes or action is needed for users at this time, which is great news.
