Despite Facebook's front against Twitch and YouTube for gaming streaming supremacy (and the only network offering 100% cut to streamers of ad revenue until 2023), not everything is going well with Facebook Gaming.
This will apply to the iOS and Android mobile client (NOT THE SERVICE) as Meta confirmed that the app will no longer be supported, will be retired from both Google Play Store and App Store and existing installations will no longer connect.
Strangely, I haven't received the previous notificacion as I am a Level Up streamer as of the writing of this and used the app, but pretty much that is what the surprising news included.
Now, I understand the confusion and since the notification was made public, many thought that Meta is giving up on Facebook Gaming in general, but NO, IS the MOBILE APP ONLY.
By the way, the app is just a corrugated space to see gaming content and was not a must-have tool as a content creation, but this certainly won't ease bad feelings of some, particularly those who had managed to take off via Facebook Gaming.
We will see what this means in the future in the long-term as practically between Facebook Gaming, Twitch and YouTube, now it is the only one without a proper independent app and all viewers need to resort to the main Facebook app.
