I've been feeling ignored and taken for granted in my personal life recently, and today was an especially bad day in that regard...but then I joined a Discord of someone who streams retro sports games on Tiktok and I've been watching him for a good minute, and he recognized me and said I was one of the first streamers he saw playing Retro sports games, and he told me it was an honor to have me in his Discord. I'm not gonna lie, this completely turned my day around.

It's crazy how much more I'm loved in all the gaming communities I'm apart of than I am in my personal life, but boy do I appreciate it. It motivates me to spend more time around people that actually appreciate my presence instead of trying to force a social life that I'm clearly never going to truly have.

If you're ever feeling down or feeling like people basically are ignoring you or taking you for granted...keep going...you never know who is watching you or who you are inspiring.

    ❤️

A little piece of advice for content creators who use Discord:

There is nothing inherently wrong with posting your streams, clips, or videos in other people's Discords IF THEY ALLOW IT. With that being said, if you're going to do that, make sure you're actually active in those Discords and are genuinely interacting with the other denizens of the Discord. If you make genuine connections with people even in other communities, they in general will be more inclined to check out your content if they figure out that you're a content creator.

Also, this is kind of optional, but I recommend not introducing yourself to people as a content creator. Let them find out later as they get to know you.

How challenging is it in the modern world to be a successful streamer? Only 7,500 of Twitch's nine million partners, according to The Washington Post, earn more than the federal minimum wage. And many of those who do may only earn $20–30,000 annually. Many streamers are full-time employees that spend 40 hours or more each week streaming. Of course, this is not to argue that there aren't any millionaire streamers. One thing is certain, though, in a sector this cutthroat: you're doing it wrong if you're tempted to start streaming for fame and wealth.
Serious game streamers need to be driven by an internal passion. It is a labor of love that is tenderly raised and shared with the world and the communities that it helps to create.

The life of a streamer can undoubtedly be lucrative. But it can also be tiring and occasionally downright demanding, just like any job in the content creation industry. Streamers are all too familiar with the problems of feeling isolated and burned out after spending endless hours in front of a screen. You're putting yourself out there, making yourself vulnerable to criticism, and that may really have an impact on your mental health. Therefore, it's crucial to understand that your value is independent of the number of viewers you have.
Fortunately, these problems can be resolved to guarantee a better outlook on life and quality of it. A strong support network at home is extremely beneficial. Veteran streamers also advise making time for fun activities other than gaming, including baking or outdoor trekking.

  • Apple finally unveiled its VR/AR headset called Vision Pro
After many years of rumors within the tech and Apple fandom communities, the time arrived at WWDC 23 for the curtain to open and the world got a glimpse of what we will now know as Apple Vision Pro. I don’t know if you are ready to spend a HEFTY $3,499, the price of a ULTRA HIGH TIER GAMING PC for just a mixed-reality headset (which to me is 90% AR and 10% VR) which Apple announced as the...
  • Arc System Works to wind up collaborations in parallel to its own IPs
Dragon Ball FighterZ was the clone of a Marvel Vs Capcom-esque game we always wanted but if Capcom was not up to do it, then Arc System Work did the task and gave Dragon Ball a new life within the FGC. But probably Dragon Ball FighterZ will NOT be the last of its kind for a while if I were to interpret ASW's CEO Minoru Kidooka on their post EVO interview with IGN. "We need to expand fighting...

It took just a mere confirmation without entering details to Eurogamer, that Bandai Namco acknowledged what it was already a common knowledge indicating that its Asia market servers (not including...

  • Denuvo is going to Nintendo Switch and reactions did not wait
Anti-Cheat became a need for honest players and developers that needs a "help" on having hackers or toxic players on true competitiveness outside a game, but historically, badly implemented and Denuvo happens to be this example. Irdeto announced late last week that their anti-cheat and DRM Denuvo, will also cover Nintendo Switch games, but ironically cheating is not the only thing that it will...
  • Discord opened more monetization opportunities for content creators
Is true that GGs holds both presence on Discord and Guilded and while each offers features on their own (mainly Guilded tries to have Discord’s features as free as possible instead of attaching Nitro), we cannot ignore every time Discord gets a big update. And indeed, it is a good one for creators that already offer subscriptions to their users and fans. Discord confirmed that they will...

A week after reporting their earnings, Electronic Arts shared some breaking and bad news today and that includes Car Racing fans, Project Cars and maybe original Codemasters fans. • Electronics Arts joins the laying-off club with 6% workforce reduction
Unfortunately, bad news keeps mounting within the gaming industry as Electronic Arts became the latest company unable to not resort to reducing their workforce to have a better front on challenging economics. VGC saw a hold of a Security Exchange Commission entry by Electronic Arts which confirms that a plan on laying off 6% of its current workforce effective during this quarter. Unfortunately...

Instead, Google just took the WHOLE WEEK to just announce new games gaining a Cloud Gaming version for Stadia....
