Originally slated as a Plan B & now the WHOLE PLAN, Microsoft announced an agreement with #Ubisoft to buy the Cloud Gaming rights of Activision Blizzard to mitigate concerns of its ABK acquisition by the regulator CMA. Under the restructured transaction, Microsoft will not be in a position either to release Activision Blizzard games exclusively on Xbox Cloud Gaming or to exclusively control the licensing terms of Activision Blizzard games for rival services. On Ubisoft's end, the company will compensate Microsoft for the cloud streaming rights to Activision Blizzard’s games through a one-off payment and through a market-based wholesale pricing mechanism, including an option that supports pricing based on usage. Also, Ubisoft can add Activision Blizzard games on Ubisoft+ on the UK market. Interestingly, the CMA responded that the Ubisoft deal would also mean that games needs to be reached through Linux-based computers & not exclusively on Windows computers (probably macOS too). Finally & to add a little pressure, the CMA confirmed that this development and remade deal needs new scrutiny, which has a deadline date of Oct 18th, 2023. Hypothetically CMA taking this long, puts the ABK's Termination Fee raise if the deal fell agains Microsoft in effect. #Gaming #GamingNews

A day later... still have my mind blown that Microsoft foresaw that improving Xbox xCloud to safely be a front to Google Stadia could back-fire in the future on not helping avoiding monopoly-related thing. We will never know if Stadia could have real opponent tech speaking.

The ESA said early last night that talks of E3 2024 are not done and not final decision has been made. Seems that they are trying to get some life support for the event but if contractor and expert Reedpop couldn't pull it off, I don't know what they are expecting.

Without even announcing or anything, seems the Entertainment Software Association are out of Plan Bs and Cs as E3 event for both 2024 and 2025 are being removed from the schedule of the Los Angeles City Tourism Board Of Commissioners. We might expect some words of ESA anytime.

Sega and Tencent respectively have confirmed to IGN that they will not have active exhibition either at this year's E3 which is just another blow for ReedPop first year organizing E3 on behalf of the ESA. From Sega, the japanese studio is looking for it's own alternative to showcase future project, meanwhile Tencent only limited on saying that neither the company nor the its games publishing division Level Infinite won’t be attending E3. Words in the industry says that ReedPop's claims of having AAA gaming company onboard hard to confirm as nobody within the marketing community has heard how many are indeed having a presentation and both ESA and ReedPop silence is not helping matters on hopes that E3 this year will be a MUCH NEEDED success. And that Sega and Tencent pulling out is a reflexion of the frustration of lack of communication from ReedPop and ESA.
