Normally at events like CES, Television sets and monitors will be one of the main things presented, but for gaming speaking, we have offerings aimed for gamers, and this time, this is what Asus, Acer, LG and Samsung had in store for 2023.

Asus ROG Swift with cooling system

First for your consideration is the ROG Swift PG27AQDM 27-inch OLED gaming monitor and despite being “one of many '' announced, the heatsink and ergonomics might be the big differentiator.

The ROG Swift PG27AQDM had a 27-inch, 1440p, matte-coated OLED that runs at a fast 240Hz refresh rate with a .03-millisecond response time and reaches 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

Asus claims that the new ROG Swift monitor has a peak brightness of 1,000 nits when displaying an HDR image taking up 3 percent of the total screen and includes a display algorithm focused on delivering a uniform brightness, giving no pixel more power than it needs to be displayed.

Probably this is the need of a heatsink although OLEDs are not known to provoke heat even with massive usage.

Pretty much Asus leaves us blank in terms of what ports are included, price and availability.

More OLED screens from Acer

Acer announced a new family of OLED gaming monitors named Predator X27U and the Predator X45.

Both are for the 1440P Realm with the Predator X27U having a size of 27 inch and the Predator X45 sizing 45 inch and being curved or maximizing field of vision.

Both have a 240Hz refresh rate and an incredibly fast .03-millisecond response time, but the spec similarities aren’t a one-to-one match and also, both have two HDMI 2.0 ports but this would limit to 144Hz if you use them as main connection and finally, they can reach a peak brightness of 1,000 nits.

The monitors will include a USB-C port with up to 90W of charging as well as two USB-A 3.2 ports and a headphone jack. Both the 27-inch and 45-inch models support VESA wall mounting.

Acer Predator X27U will be available this year for $1,099 and the PRedator X45 will be sold at $1699.

LG once again wants to prove that they are the master of OLED

As expected, LG did not want to be outdone from the competition presenting its newest TV and monitor models for 2023 and in gaming speaking, we got two variants of the new LG OLED UltraGear monitors.

Two models will be sold this year one with a 45 inch screen and other at 27 inch and the shared specs includes a response time of 0.03ms, making them the first-ever OLED displays for monitors to provide a refresh rate of 240Hz per second which permits the clearest picture quality and smoothest movements, even during unbelievably fast-paced action, according to LG.

Both screens are curved and have a radius of 800R of bending, allowing optimal curve for every genre of content and clearer field of view.

LG expects to release both screens this year with the 45 inch variant at $1699 and the 27 inch variant at $999.

Samsung will renew Odyssey

Despite having announced an Odyssey Display last year that hasn't launched yet,. Samsung either way used CES 2023 as a platform to present the Odyssey G95NC monitor, slated as the world’s first 32:9 aspect ratio OLED gaming monitor.

It has a super-wide 32:9 aspect ratio, expanding to 5120 x 1440 resolution with an 1800R curve and has a fast 240Hz refresh rate.

Unfortunately and a custom in CES every year, Samsung only said that it’s coming later in 2023 with no price announced yet but I foresee this breaking the $1000 mark all right.
