CD Projekt Red recently told investor that the next #TheWitcher game has entered pre-production and have over 400 devs (or studio's 60% of dev workforce) working on in & expect full dev phase by second half of 2024. This is part of the so-called Project Polaris, which aims a to have a new The Witcher game trilogy in a 6 years period starting with the release of the first one. Also and talking to local press, CD Projekt Red acknowledged that single player games are not compatible with micro-transaction or for their POV, they don't see a place for microtransaction but, cannot be ruled out on multiplayers games. In a more than upbeat presentation than the "dire" scenarios that many outlets were rumoring, Microsoft Gaming finally came forward about the future of #Xbox and while acknowledging that all the mentioned things in the special Xbox Podcast episode were planned as early in December, it doesn't need to be taken a change of plans at all. Xbox Game Studios will be launching 4 unnamed games for Playstation 5 and Nintendo Switch and it was hinted that 2 of them are more than a year since launched, are community-drive games and no, is not neither Starfield nor Indiana Jones and for now they are not committing on more games. First party Xbox games will be on Game Pass with no End of date, including new launches and actually, new games will be releasing on Day1 and Game Pass is an Xbox service exclusively. Activision Blizzard King Games will be coming to Game Pass starting with Diablo IV on March 28th. Phil Spencer interestingly acknowledged that there is an importance of exclusive games for platforms, that includes Xbox, but he foresee that the strategy will be small part for the industry in between the next 5 to 10 years. Regardless of that, Xbox President Sarah Bond assured that Xbox is not abandoning the hardware business and actually, next-gen Xbox is already in development and we are inbound for some news this Holidays season but, Microsoft Gaming did not acknowledged the future of physical games while addressing Xbox's view on gaming preservation. Latest noise within #Bungie is that the now Playstation subsidiary is on high alert as Sony can enact a clause on their agreement that the studio's board of directors can be dismissed and Sony take over at all. The possibilities of Bungie being folded within Playstation Studios is now more real than ever and pretty much the underperformance of Destiny 2's sales can pretty much justify Sony to enact the mentioned clause. Currently, Bungie is operating as an independent subsidiary after surprisingly, Sony announced acquiring it under that condition. Since last year, Sony tasked Bungie on assess all GaaS project including the long awaited The Last Of Us multiplayer game and actually, most of them failed the assessment and explains why Sony decided to have Naughty Dog to scale back the game. Recently, Bungie has come under fire after running a surprising layoff process as revenue of sales by Destiny 2 are under target and reportedly management has not been empathic with the people that got fired and doubled-down on improving things regardless the environment. Now it has been rumored that a new layoff run is possible if the next expansion, The Final Shape, needs to be a success, while Bungie has not acknowledged publicly, but Marathon has been internally delayed by 2025. #Gaming #GamingNews
