While it was one of the worst kept secrets in gaming this year, Maxis and Electronic Arts finally confirmed that the next entry of The Sims is currently in development and it is dubbed as Project Rene.
“The game will stay true to what The Sims has always been while pushing to evolve how those Sims think and behave. It will reimagine The Sims with even more ways to play, tools to encourage creativity, and the ability to tell meaningful stories. With Project Rene, players will have the choice to play solo or collaborate with others, and will have the ability to play their game across supported devices.”
Avoiding calling it “The Sims 5”, Electronic Arts confirmed that the game is being developed and the final product will offer the same experience on different devices, accessible and easy for players to work together and share.
Judging by the footage, the game might be seeing a mobile app companion or a mobile version that could be beneficial for PC/console gamers to use their phone.
Don’t expect a release soon as it was said that the development is a road for many years but is nice to have players expectations and maybe, a reason why having the base game of The Sims 4 going free-to-play.
