Well it was about a week that original Bayonetta voice actress Hellena Taylor made some bold statement and was virtually proved wrong with insider information about what really happened that led to her missing her role to return as Bayonetta in Bayonetta 3 and being granted to Jennifer Hale.
With the urge of clearing things up, Taylor stated that the initial offer from PlatinumGames - which she rejected - would have amounted to $10,000 in total, and that following her correspondence with Hideki Kamiya she was offered an additional $5,000.
Really different when she originally stated that the offering was just a mere $4,000.
Also, Taylor claims that she declined the $15,000, and 11 months later also turned down an offer of $4,000 to voice “some lines” as a flat fee.
According to Taylor, there were no extensive talks, and claims that she was offered $4,000 for 5 recording sessions are, in her own words, “total fabrications”. Furthermore, she denies that she negotiated for a six-figure payment as according to sources of Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, Hellena Taylor just said a big exaggerated and not completely truthful side of the story.
TLDR, practically Hellena Taylor moved mass with not a complete transparency and got to agree that while it is good to bring voice actor pay cut in discussion, it was so unprofessional complaining with things that probably are under an NDA notice and worse, a wrong narrative that probably just set her future as unreliable for future roles.
Obviously that Taylor will now want the whole ordeal to quiet with time, but she revolved the beehive and while no documented incident has been on general knowledge, Platinum Games had to appeal to gamers not harass Jennifer Hale for this situation.
