Let’s face it as this current generation, officially the ninth generation of video games, it was obvious that a price hike for software or for us games was already a BIG possibility but got to say that many have managed to go 2 years without an increase.

But unfortunately Microsoft have confirmed that major launches will now cost $69.99 as most suggested retail price as per the justification: “This price reflects the content, scale, and technical complexity of these titles' '.

This has been the reply that Microsoft is giving to every news outlet wanting a reaction as this price increase affects first party titles, mainly, Xbox Game Studio and is regardless they are going Game Pass Day 1 launch like it will be on Starfield, Redfall and Forza Motorsport.

While Microsoft managed to control some of the prices, in part to maintain sales in the pandemic era, having the Xbox Series S & X selling on a loss for each console sold and Microsoft just broke the selling-at-a-positive line almost 2 years after launch.

So basically, it is just a matter of time until Nintendo follows suit as it is the only company not getting away from the $59.99 mark but has said that it doesn’t rule out a price hike.
