In an interesting development after Crystal Dynamics confirmed that it was developing a new Tomb Raider after the “tumultuous divorce” with Square Enix we got some big news that includes Amazon.

From now on, Amazon, Amazon Games and Crystal Dynamics will be synonyms each time we talk about Tomb Raider as Crystal Dynamics and Amazon announced that the new Tomb Raider game, currently beginning development, will be published by Amazon Games.

Back in May and a little while after Crystal Dynamics was bought by Embracer Group, Crystal Dynamics announced that they are in preparation for beginning developing the next Tomb Raider game using Unreal Engine 5.

Today’s Amazon Games being the publisher announcement also confirms that the next Tomb Raider will be a narrative-driven adventure that continues Lara Croft’s story from the previous games or in other words, NO REBOOT and the story that have Tomb Raider (2013), Rise Of The Tomb Raider and Shadow Of The Tomb Raider will continue.

No release date or at least target release date was shared at this time.

For Amazon of course, it is a great deal after the successful launch of the american version of Lost Ark with Amazon Games serving as the publisher of the game and definitely have continued the momentum.
