Finally a firmware update with not just a mere “performance upgrade” and no context from Sony as the Playstation 4 and Playstation 5 receives new features that were part of a BETA that started in the first week of February.
Sony announced that they felt that the feedback from previous BETA were enough to launch a stable version and practically both consoles are now able to to create or join Open and Closed Parties and exclusive to the PS5, the update brings UI enhancements to Game Base and Trophy cards, Mono Audio (one speaker output).
Meanwhile, a new test drive will be given to PS5 users, where Sony wants them to try a Voice Command feature esque Siri/Google Assistant/Alexa/Cortana, that lets you look for and open games, apps, and settings, as well as control media playback with their voice.
For this time, Sony states that the English language setting will be the only option available for now.
Also, the PS App will gain the create/join Open and Closed Parties functionality & the Game Base and Trophy cards.
