After a lengthy Early Access state where gamers paid for a full release game price with the wrist that every improvement makes any progress corrupted or incompatible will final;ly be rewarded for Baldur’s Gate III games.

Larian Studios has announced last week that Baldur’s Gate will get a more forwarded release date at August 2, 2023 and after attempting a parallel release with Playstation 5, unfortunately the game has been delayed for September 6th.

The reason is, Larian has been working on the game to work properly on 60fps and has achieved that on PC, but not so quiet on Playstation 5 world, where it needs more time to work.

Additional updates include more cinematic dialogue than three times all three Lord of the Rings novels put together and 174 hours of cinematics, making it over twice as long as every season of Game of Thrones combined.

A carefully compromise on Xbox

Larian Studios announced that they are working on the Xbox version of the game but carefully making promises such as having Xbox Series S and Series X on plans, means a parallel development instead of making for “S” is “X” is the “same thing” which is not.

Also there is a technical issue preventing them from giving a clear release date for the Xbox console version of Baldur’s Gate III.

“We’re optimistic about Baldur’s Gate 3 on the Xbox Series X, but in order to announce and release the game on Xbox, we need to ensure that the game is performing without compromise across the entire Xbox X|S ecosystem, in multiplayer and with split-screen”.

This in particular makes it difficult as Xbox policy is that it doesn’t  matter if this is for Xbox Series S or X, BOTH consoles need to have equal features.

I get the feeling that Microsoft would need to step in to help Larian Studios if they want to have Baldur's Gate’s III on both Xbox consoles.
