Heading to the third weekend of July 0223, Sony Interactive Entertainment has rolled out new PS4 and PS5 system updates and pretty much we know what that means when the changelog doesn’t specify what it is included with.
Just a mere “This system software update improves system performance” message is labeled on the update for both the Playstation 4 and Playstation 5.
Respectively, they are the firmware PS4 10.70 and PS5 23.01-07.60.00.
Normally this kind of message indicates that Sony has once again, gained some room against hackers that are able to circumvent security to allow administrative access or the popularly called jailbreak, to allow installation of features, including non-authorized apps and facilitate emilations of other gaming platforms with Playstation consoles.
Another thing that led me to speculate all this is that the update is mandatory if you want to play online.
It’s been a while honestly to see this new back-and-forward but Sony obviously isn’t giving up, now that PS Plus tiers is a little of a year old and has gained traction on monetizing on classical games.
