After 24 hours revealing that they will be taking over the development of the next-gen version of The Witcher 3 (unofficially because the partner developers are in Russia), CD Projekt Red finally gave an important detail still missing for Cyberpunk 2077 fans.

After informing their investor as part of their quarterly meeting, CD Projekt Red confirmed that development of Cyberpunk 2077’s first expansion is well underway and aims for a 2023 release, much later than anticipated.

Unfortunately, no mention was made for the Multiplayer mode that was implied that it was canceled, but that has not been officially marked as that.

But it is interesting to see what else is on the roadmap including a new game that will be a spinoff of either Cyberpunk or The Wticher, a spinoff of GWENT and research for future projects alongside further support to existing titles.

All this as a follow-up due the rocky release of Cyberpunk 2077, that was below expectations on a new and massive experience back in December 2020 due a massive bugs and performance issue with the game, to later be revealed that CD Projekt Red, while having announced the game back in the first half of the 2010’s it was by 2017 that the developers decided to make major efforts that resulted in a rushed game and contrasting with the heavy marketing of the game previous and during launch date.
