Surprising announcement was made today by LucasFilm Games and while it means that EA is not happy that Star Wars is doing well without them being the exclusive game producer, it was the best decision it was made for the Star Wars gaming effort.

We are awaiting a couple of Star Wars games, yet Lucasfilm Games announced a joint venture with Skydance New Media and gaming industry veteran Amy Hennig for creating a narrative-driven, action-adventure game featuring an original story in the Star Wars galaxy.

Amy Hennig is known already for her writing and direction of games series like Legacy of Kain, Jak and Daxter, and Uncharted while serving as Naughty Dog leader.

Meanwhile Skydance New Media is Hennig’s studio founded after her Naughty Dog’s stint and amassed other veterans for gaming development and already developing a brand-new game for Marvel which like the now announced Star Wars project, doesn’t have any important detail including title, release date or lore description.
