We are still in the earning reports season and the next gaming company that decided to take its turn to tell its investor the highlights of the Q1 2022 is CD Projekt Red.
Evidently, when it comes to earning reports these days for CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2077 performance is the first thing in mind and there is good news.
In the latest report, CD Projekt Red indicated a boost on sales for Cyberpunk 2077, signaling the good acceptance of patches, particularly Patch 1.5 and onwards that put the game in a state that IT WAS SUPPOSED TO DEBUT IN THE FIRST PLACE.
There are two interesting things here and the first is the LACK of the Google Stadia’s version sales numbers, as they are nowhere to be seen in the presentation and neither on the written report despite that Stadia was the most stable version of Cyberpunk 2077 beside PC on the launch of the game.
Probably this will tell the chances of seeing any The Witcher game or the future The Witcher game landing on Stadia if partnership with Google is not on the best days.
Second interesting thing is that the Playstation version particularly rose to keep leading sales against the Xbox version.
Particularly, Sony took the action of disallowing the sale of Cyberpunk 2077 when problems became apparent at the first weeks of the game’s launch and actually between Playstation and Xbox, it was the least developed version.
With this it is obvious to expect that CD Projekt Red give the Patch 1.5 a great credit and this year there is going to be a Title Update 2.6 to give the game even more improvement and prepare the base for the expansion next year.
CDPR also acknowledged that it has refocused the task for a great quantity of the development team to other projects including a GWENT spinoff and The Witcher next game, but there are enough people to keep working on Cyberpunk 2077’s expansion.
Unfortunately, once again there was no mention of the multiplayer PvP mode while a “cancellation” was never acknowledged but at this time, we have to accept that this will be an implicit confirmation that the multiplayer is a no-go.
