This time is Riot Games, the makers of League Of Legends and Valorant are running a round (and probably the first if things doesn’t improve) as reported by eSport reporter Jacob Wolf, who’s sources claims that cuts includes recruiting & human resources, support and esports.

Riot Games has not officially responded to this publication to rectify or confirm that indeed, became the second company running layoff within the gaming industry in 2023 after Microsoft admitted that the 4.5% workforce reduction included Microsoft Gaming and Xbox, which was announced yesterday.

The move comes three months after Riot Games proudly announced acquiring the Australian branch of Wargaming, Wargaming Sydney with an undisclosed amount of money and having them working as an extension of the development team for League Of Legends and boost the networks of in-house developers, promising keeping all current hired talent.
