The last decade and in direct effect on the troubling exit of Hideo Kojima as VP on Konami, the japanese veteran decided to make more focus on mobile gaming while PSE soccer game being the only AAA game with full focus after the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain marketing campaign ended (and along the way Metal Gear Survive didn’t survive a first non-Kojima Metal Gear game).
With 2022 confirming its return to AAA games and the Silent Hill revisiting, we got another big news from Konami.
Konami announced early this week that it has opened a brand new 1st party gaming studio called Konami Osaka Studio and will be located in Osaka Umeda Twin Towers South business center.
The main purpose of the new studio will be “ a well-developed environment where creators can demonstrate their full potential, and is set up in a location with convenient transportation access.”
The Japanese gaming maker is also in the middle of the construction of another main studio which will serve as a next generation R&D center and all this is part of the plan of continuing to be in business for the next 50 years.
Aside from updates from all Silent Hill games announced so far, it is expected that Konami has some brand-new announcements this year.
